Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
It is his first trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after March of the previous year.
Success also means the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an better service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
